More Information: We strongly recommend arriving at Almerta Station the evening prior to your camel safari for briefing. This ensures a smooth and full day of trekking for all participants of your safari. Please organise accommodation at Almerta Station by clicking the following link: http://www.almertastation.com.au

Please note: Since we use the camels for pack transportation of equipment and supplies, a good level of fitness is required. It is expected that all participants should be able to comfortably walk a distance of at least ten kilometres per day. This is true expedition trekking at it's best.

What To Bring:

Successful camel trekking requires everyone to travel light.

A good rule to remember is the less you have, the less to worry about.

Below is a suggested list of items that are needed, anything else is a luxury.

The evening nights can get cold but during the day it can be warm.

Layered clothing is the best form of comfort and temperature control.

Items to Bring:

• Two changes of warm clothes
• A warm hat or beanie
• A change of clothes for the evenings
• Sturdy walking boots.
• Personal Hygiene needs
• Personal medications
• Raincoat
• Sleeping Bag (zero to -5C is recommended)
• Shade Hat (For Day Use)
• Sunscreen
• Camera and spare batteries
• A sturdy, reliable torch and batteries (Headlamps are great)
• Day Pack / Water pack (Camelbak or the like)
• Carry water bottle
• Insect repellant
• Fly Net
