Russell didn't know a single thing about camels, expedition work, deserts or the organisational skills he would need in order to complete the dream. A few years ago we set off on a magical journey of trust. We sold our home,got rid of all our gear and headed off into the Australian desert in a wagon ,pulled by a team of rescued and much loved camels. We also had with us over 40 different animals that had been previously abused,donkey,goats,dogs,parrots,pigeons,chickens and camels. Several animals in need also joined us along the way. After three years of traveling we came across a run down scout camp on the edge of a dry lake. We only planned to pull up and rest there for a few months,but when we went to leave,everything started to go wrong,broke down and then a camel got sick. It took me a long time to LET GO. My vision of our dream place to live was different from this. For a while, { longer than I like to admit} I kicked and struggled against a flow in my life that was so powerful I could not resist for long. When I did LET GO a funny thing happened...I discovered that I loved it,the dry lake filled and now the owner is signing over the lease to us.
